Passengers on-board the Mersey Ferry can give Mickey and his crew a warm welcome as they sail alongside the Disney Magic Cruise Liner whilst it visits Liverpool.

The world’s most magical cruise liner is set for a spectacular reception when it berths at Princes Dock on Friday 7 September. Disney fans will be able to get a unique view of the ship from the deck of a Mersey Ferry during a 50-minute River Explorer Cruise. Loved by children and adults alike, the 965ft Disney Magic vessel will be in the city for only 12 hours, but passengers on-board any of the River Explorer Cruises that day will benefit from breath-taking views of the spectacular cruise ship.

The intricate detail that makes Disney Magic so special will be visible from bow to stern. With Mickey’s famous face adorning the activity deck, promenade and funnels, families on the ferry will get a real sense of nostalgia and an unmissable opportunity to take lots of pictures as they sail alongside the liner. The ever first Disney ship, Magic, was launched in 1998 and since then has sailed around the world delighting children and the young at heart. Disney Magic features award winning Broadway style Disney shows, extraordinary entertainment, and decadent dining for its 2,700 passengers and 945 crew members.

Gary Evans from Mersey Ferries said: “The last time Disney Magic visited Liverpool thousands of families made their way to the waterfront to get a glimpse of this truly impressive ship. From grandparents to toddlers, everyone was in awe of the vessel. Our River Explorer Cruises will be running throughout the day and will give fans the chance to get closer to Mickey and his famous friends. The ferry will sail alongside the vessel as it is stationed at Princes Berth, giving families a unique view of this imaginative and colourful ship from the river.”

As part of the River Explorer Cruise passengers will also enjoy spectacular views of Liverpool’s famous UNESCO World Heritage Waterfront. The River Explorer Cruise also gives passengers the opportunity to enjoy a full day of activity, with free access to the remarkable U-boat Story at Woodside Ferry Terminal and the chance to visit the interactive Spaceport attraction in Seacombe Ferry Terminal; which is currently hosting a family favourite – the “Sci-Fi Icons” exhibition.
