If you have even taken a walk in and around the Anglican cathedral (the red brick) you may have seen a beautiful cafe nestled in the eves of the building, The Welsford Bistro!

WHO
Opening the Welsford in 2020 (right in the middle of lockdown!), Neil Blackhurst and Damien Flynn have been cooking up a storm! Neil was the manager of the old cafe from April 2014- April 2018 so knows the place inside out and when the contract for the old cafe expired he knew him and Damein could take it to the next lever!
Neil used to own Pistachio/Vinyl on Lark Lane then became the manager of the Cathedral and then went into Operations looking after 40 schools kitchens across North of England! Damien is from Leicester and has worked in Michelin starred restaurants in London before moving to Liverpool where he was Head Chef at 60 Hope Street for 8 years! He now creates great dishes in this beautiful cafe!
WHAT
A coffee shop, cafe and bistro all mixed together! They serve breakfast, lunch and grab and go and use locally sourced ingredients from all local suppliers. Don’t forget them insane Sunday Roasts! This is a place for everyone, student, families, tourist or a solo date! You can even bring your four legged friends who are allowed on the covered outside porch.

Monday – Saturday 10-4.30pm (serve food until 4pm, drinks and cakes until 4.30pm)

Some of our menu highlights have to be the Scouse!! mentioned on Google as best Scouse in Liverpool and soon to be featured in the new edition of Lonely Planet – Experience England Book! They are on the MAP!! It’s served with Damiens homemade Focaccia and is a classic. Dream dish if you are visiting and an iconic staple for tourists!
