You looked at your watch recently? It is gin o’clock.

The weather’s heating up, plants are sprouting and Dad’s all over Liverpool are walking round with their tops off. In other words, it is summer. Ice creams, bike rides and cocktails, even the typical British weather couldn’t dampen our spirits. And it just got a whole lot better. Last month Botanical Garden, Liverpool’s one and only gin garden in the Baltic Triangle bloomed and they’ve been shaking up gin cocktails and Liverpool’s drink scene ever since. The space is an urban wonderland covered in street art and has all the making of a quintessential British garden in the summer. But it is so much more.

Whilst we always assumed we’d get a sandwich in our name first, we’re very proud nonetheless to announce that the Botanical Garden are releasing a special cocktail for our cardholders on World Gin Day this Saturday 13th June. Whilst their usual cocktails are £7, this one is just £4 for all Independent Liverpool cardholders and is a sour rhubarb gin (garden made) with eager cranberry and sparkling water garnished with mint served in a pretty cup. Say hello to “Gindependent Liverpool”, your new best mate this summer.
