Remember when you were a kid and you would fill shoeboxes with little presents and send them other kids abroad for Christmas? Well, we’re asking you to do the same for people a lot closer to home.
Shoebox Full Of Love does exactly what it says on the box; fill a shoebox full of little presents and these guys will distribute them around Merseyside to homeless people, veterans and families who have fallen on hard times. You can even pop a card in there to pass on a little message. The idea started last year and went viral in the city and they’re gearing up for a bigger and better year but they need you, and you to help it get there.
Sound good? Well it’s about to get a lot easier, and tastier. Maguire’s Pizza Bar and Evil Eye – Beer & Burrito Shack have teamed up with Shoebox Full of Love Homeless Appeal to bring you back to back weekends of tasty awesomeness – and all you need is a shoebox filled with goodies. On Sunday 29th November head down to Evil Eye, on Smithdown Road, and you can swap a shoebox for a £1 burrito all day. The gesture can warm your heart and the burrito can warm your stomach. On Saturday 5th December head to Maguire’s Pizza Bar, on Renshaw Street, to swap a shoebox for a £1 pizza. The stuff dreams are made of.
