Both The Art School and Shiverpool are flying the flag for local Liverpool business.

Now in its 28th year, the Awards celebrate the very best in English tourism championing excellence in best practice and customer service. It is with great delight that we find out two businesses in completely different fields bound together by Liverpool are up for awards. First off we’ve got Shiverpool, the first theatrical guided tour of Liverpool which has been selected as a finalist at the most prestigious award ceremony for England’s Tourism industry.

The tour explores the magical neighbourhood of Hope Street. Some of Liverpool’s most awe inspiring and distinctive landmarks are absorbed within the 90 minutes of street theatre fun, that include the historic Philharmonic Pub and Hall, Wellington Rooms, The Metropolitan Cathedral, Rodney Street and ending at the Gothic majesty of our Anglican Cathedral within the depths of the Grade 1 listed public park and former cemetery, St James’ garden.

Next off we’ve got The Art School, a restaurant at the forefront of gastronomical excellence in Liverpool and arguably some of the best and most inventive food you can taste. Located in Signal Street, Art School has made the final three shortlisted venues in the taste category of the 2017 Visit England Awards for Excellence. Run by Wirral chef Paul Askew, who recently made a pretty amazing TV performance on Saturday Kitchen, it’s no mean feat as it is the only Northern establishment to make the final. The food is so pretty we don’t know whether to eat it or get our picture taken with it and it’s not the first time the restaurant has received applause for its food.

The winners will be announced late April in London, good luck everyone!
