Life is like a box of chocolates… you never know which one you’re going to get.
Forrest Gump is the childhood film that made us laugh and broke our heart. Slow-witted Forrest Gump dominating on the gridiron as a college football star, fought in Vietnam and captaining a shrimp boat. Along the way Forrest inspired people with his childlike optimism and his love for Jenny. It’s personally one of our favourite films and we’re not the only ones as Daisy Wood-Davis creates a feasted theme around the film in one of Liverpool’s most beautiful spaces.
Daisy isn’t a trained chef – she’s actually an actress but that hasn’t stopped her putting on some show stopping food. She’s also a pescatarian who mainly eats veggies so none of the dishes contain meat.
We caught up with her:
Hey Daisy. Want to start off telling us all about your supper club?
The Dining With Daisy supper club is going to be held monthly in the city, the current location is Love Lane Wine Bar, a beautiful disused railway arch which offers a variety of Italian wines at a fantastic price.
This will be the second supper club I’ve held, the first one being a huge success which ran the theme ‘1 in 4’- 1 seasonal ingredient cooked across 4 courses in 4 different ways.
Why Forrest Gump?
This months I wanted to merge my two passions together by hosting a film themed supper club and Forrest Gump was a great choice as it’s such a loved film and it’s locations provide a lot of culinary imagination. I want to celebrate the incredible film that is Forrest Gump whilst allowing people to enjoy it in a way they have never done so before.
What food can we expect?
The menu is going to consist of Alabama appetisers, Bubba shrimp starters, Vietnamese pho main course & of course, a box of home made chocolates for dessert!
How can we buy tickets?
Tickets can be bought by scrolling down to the events section on my website: www.diningwithdaisy.co.uk. Follow me on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/daisy_wood_davis/ to find out about future supper clubs.
