We’d like to think we’ve got to grips with those whole Liverpool things now so it’s a surprise to us when we haven’t even heard of the place. Everybody knows Hope Street is home to a plethora of culture and some picturesque views. Two cathedrals adorn either side of the stretch and fine dining, theatre and some pretty great watering holes fill the gaps. 60 Hope Street is elegant, contemporary and puts traditional twists on the best of British. It is one of the best known for the city’s most ambitious restaurants and occupies an imposing and beautiful Georgian Grade ll Listed building with arguably one of the prettiest facades in the city. Follow the spiraling stairs away from the distinguished dining just a floor above and a whole other world reveals itself. Welcome to The Lounge, Liverpool’s best kept secret.
The perfect word to describe it is, cosy. The kind of place that feels like Sunday afternoon no matter what day you go on. Boho-chic leather couches will keep you captive and make the next couple of hours hard to move. Life seems a little slower down here and that’s the way they like it. Away from the cacophony and chilly nights that you can view from the windows, huddle around the log fire and let the hypnotic flames sedate you. Emails, bills and responsibility do not exist within these walls. Amongst the little trinkets that make the space exciting, there is even a piano if you fancy tickling the ivories and adding to the ambiance.
We all have our own happy place, a place to get away from it all and The Lounge is one for us and we’re sure you’ll love it too. What more could you want? Well, we’ve saved the pièce de résistance to last. There’s a whole host of events going down that you’ll be chomping at the bit to get involved with. From gin master classes and blending your very own gin to jazz nights and everything in between. It is with a bittersweet sincerity that we write this.
