The Bronte, a much-loved Youth and Community Centre with over 50 years of history, has launched an ambitious £750,000 fundraising campaign to complete the renovation of its new, state-of-the-art facility in Liverpool city centre, just steps away from Lime Street Station.
While the refurbishment is already underway, rising construction costs caused by inflation have created a funding gap. The Bronte is calling on the community, local businesses, and supporters – including Jamie Carragher, Lee Butler, and Tony Bellew – to rally together and help make this vital project a reality.
“This really is the stuff of dreams for the Bronte and our community,” said Laura Cain, Centre Manager for The Bronte. “Over the years, I’ve seen my mum fight tirelessly to raise funds and keep the Bronte alive. What we’re building now is beyond anything we ever imagined. The impact it will have on our young people, local families, and the wider community is immeasurable. I’m so proud and excited to see the Bronte thrive once again.”
The newly modernised centre will create vibrant spaces and opportunities designed to benefit the entire Merseyside region. Once completed, the facility will allow The Bronte to expand its programs and services, reaching even more children and young people. With a focus on inclusive, engaging, and educational activities, The Bronte aims to promote mental and physical well-being, reduce isolation and deprivation, and empower people to improve their quality of life.
The upgraded facility will also feature multi-purpose spaces for meetings, events, and conferences, complemented by catering services, a beautiful terrace, and a garden. Additionally, it will boast Liverpool city centre’s first and only outdoor sports pitch, creating even more opportunities for the community to come together.
