Time spent with cats is never wasted. How many minutes of the day do you stare at pictures of cats? If the answer is “loads”, you’re our kinda people. Cats are mysterious animals. As we all know, nobody owns them, they own us. Sometime in the spring, on Bold St, Liverpool is about to get a cat cafe. The café will be a place where customers can come together for a coffee and cake and all in feline company. Following the immense success of the Manchester version, the cat cafe are bringing the feline fun over. Expect cat cinemas galore and more.
The cafés originated in Taiwan in South East Asia but were made popular in Japan in recent years. Laura once lived in Yokohama, Japan as a child and believes her passion for cats came from the acclaimed ‘Hello Kitty’. She’s taken this inspiration to open the café where patrons pay a cover fee that goes towards the cats’ welfare. The visits usually last for an hour but at less busy times, you can usually stay for a lot longer. Patrons can kick back, relax and enjoy the feline company. The best kind of company.
