Female led Liverpool childrenswear brand, Reins Clothing, are making kids raincoats in the UK made only with recycled and sustainable material.
Having launched the site this weekend (www.reinsclothing.co.uk) they hope to show the thriving childrenswear industry that you can have fun clothing without hurting the earth. Every year, around 8 million tons of plastic waste escapes into our oceans. Plastic pollution has a huge negative impact on our waters and wildlife health. There’s no getting away from the fact this plastic won’t just disappear so it needs repurposing. Enter Reins Clothing. Each coat is made with up to 8 GRS certified recycled plastic bottles.
The first collection is beautifully designed by Liverpool illustrator Amber Badger and includes three under the sea designs with an extra camouflage design to sync the collection together. Rhiain Jones, Reins Clothing director says “it’s so important to us that all the material we use is recycled, or failing that, sustainable and kinder to our environment whilst of course keeping the design super fun”.
Reins Clothing will be popping up at stores and family festivals up and down the country this year and of course can be found at their website – www.reinsclothing.co.uk.
