Happiness is mulled wine in winter.
The Baltic Triangle is the epicentre of creativity in Liverpool and is well known for pushing the boundaries. It is home to game designers, app developers, a skate park, drone flyers, musicians and Botanical Garden, a pop-up urban wonderland of everything gin, plant and summer related. The quintessential British garden but not as you’d expect it. The very definition of a hidden gem, so much so that even Google Maps doesn’t know where you’re on about. Walk along New Bird Street and amid the walls adorned in street art you’ll come across a light brown wall with the words “Gin Lane”. A destination that we all called home this summer and for one weekend in December, we can call home again.
What is the occasion for? Well, on the 8th-11th December we are turning The Great Baltic Warehouse into an independent mecca of festive fun. No, we’re not pulling your cracker, we’re being deadly serious. Some of the best food in the city under one roof, an independent gift market, a craft beer corner, a mulled wine winter garden and “Me Nan’s”. What is “Me Nan’s” you ask? Well we’re taking the Greenhouse space within the gin garden and turning it into a pop up Baileys bar meant to mimic a typical Scouse Nan’s living room on Christmas Day with antiques, old furniture and and lots more. Just to make you all aware this is a ticketed event and they’re selling fast so grab them here whilst you can.
Speaking of mulled wine, it doesn’t stop there. A little bit of legend from Lark Lane that we all know as Keith’s will be hosting a pop-up Keith’s Wine Bar in the warehouse. There will be lots of, you guessed it, wine and it’ll be in the form of red, white and mulled. Like to be able to get drunk by eating? Laura’s Little Bakery is bringing mulled wine brownies. Yes, you read that correctly, mulled wine brownies. What a way to get merry. Foodies of Liverpool and beyond, you’ll be glad to know the food doesn’t stop there.
