The Brink is set to welcome the people of Liverpool to its alcohol-free screening of the hotly anticipated Champions League Final.
The venue, which is part of national charity Action on Addiction, will be showing the match on Saturday, June 1, cheering on the red men as Liverpool go head-to-head with Tottenham Hotspur in one of the biggest games in this year’s sporting calendar. As the city’s only dry bar The Brink hopes to offer a family-friendly space whereby everyone is welcome on the day.
General Manager at The Brink Carl Bell said: “Sporting events are often associated with drinking and by removing this element entirely we hope to create an environment that feels inclusive where people can come and simply enjoy the football with friends or family. Members of the recovery community shouldn’t feel left out of occasions like this and with most venues offering alcohol in huge supply for the event, we understand that this can be uncomfortable for some.
Our alcohol-free environment is also ideal for young children and families who want to spend the day together whilst still getting right into the midst of the action in the city centre. We won’t let the lack of alcohol quieten our celebrations on the day and as many of our team are big Liverpool supporters, we’ll certainly be cheering for Klopp and the boys no matter the outcome.”
In true Liverpool style, the dry bar and café will be serving up traditional Scouse as well as hearty homemade soup served with bread on the day. Dishes can be combined with a healthy juice or smoothie, ideal for those that are looking for a healthier alternative.
The Brink will be open on Sunday, June 2 to coincide with the scheduled Victory Parade. Should Liverpool pick up their sixth Champions League trophy, the venue will be inviting fans to continue celebrations into the weekend. For more information visit www.thebrinkliverpool.com
