Friday 13th may be unlucky for some but not for the Free State Kitchen as they celebrate 5 years in the flipping burger business.
Who does the best burger in Liverpool? Never have seven words caused so much controversy. Now we all have our favourites but one constant is that there’s a rather quaint little burger shack on Maryland Street that is always in the conversation. The modern burger is a far cry away from what it used to be, back in the ‘good old days’ people simply saw it as squashed beef in a bun with some sauce to the side. These days, the world of the burger has gone gourmet and FSK are at the forefront of this revolution.
FSK has a really great atmosphere that rivals the burger. The place itself is mnemonic of an American Style Diner where people come to chow down, all not forgetting to tightly fix their napkins around their neck in an attempt to avoid a frantic couple of minutes of Googling how to remove burger stains off a suit, followed by the bounden and embarrassing duty of clearing your search history. Head outside and you will be immersed into their secret garden; a must-do for outdoor beers.
To celebrate five years of amazing business Free State Kitchen will be selling a special birthday burger to mark the occasion for one day only on Friday 13th April. Head down to FSK to wish them a happy birthday and order their ridiculously good Celebration 5 Stack Burger; a towering feast of 5 juicy beef patties, 5 rashers of crispy streaky smoked bacon, 5 slices of gooey American cheese, salad and their much loved FSK Secret Sauce, all served with fresh cut Rosemary Fries for an amazing £15.
What’s more, the first 20 customers to bring the team a birthday card will be treated to a complimentary portion of their famous buffalo hot wings on the house. Head down this Friday to join in with the fun, hopefully the sun will make an appearance for diners to enjoy the beautiful garden space at the restaurant too. We would just like to say congratulations to the Free State Kitchen gang. We’ve seen how hard they’ve worked over the years and whilst most independents won’t even survive a year, to turn 5 and still be loved is nothing short of impressive. Thank you for all the delicious burgers, great times and even better memories but not so-thank-you for the damage to the wallet and waistline. You’re worth it, though.
