As part of Liverpool Art Fair’s expansion to a 10 week event and move to Liverpool Waterfront this summer, they have commissioned a purpose built gallery space, to be located in a prime position between the Museum of Liverpool and the Port of Liverpool Building. The structure, which will be built from five extra-large shipping containers, will have two interior levels plus a rooftop seating area where visitors can enjoy the fantastic views while sipping a drink from the adjacent café bar. The designs released today show the striking look of the space, which will form a key element of this year’s Pier Head Village.
Liverpool Art Fair is an annual event which aims to showcase a wide range of affordable original art by a plethora of local artists; providing a unique insight into the region’s creative talent and the opportunity for everyone, from seasoned collector to first time art buyer, to own their own piece of the Liverpool art world. It was launched in May 2012 as part of the inaugural Liverpool Art Month, at the then brand new Camp and Furnace, which again hosted the event in 2013. In 2014 they moved to The Gallery Liverpool, where the event was held for three years. Each year they have showcased the work of almost 100 artists, selected from hundreds of submissions. 2017 will see the biggest year yet; they intend to showcase the work of hundreds of talented local artists to the hundreds of thousands of visitors who flock to the Pier Head every summer.
Liverpool Art Fair 2017 will take place from the 1st July to the 10th September. This is an open submission event and all artists based within a 35 mile radius of Liverpool are invited to submit work for inclusion, but HURRY, submissions close this Sunday. Please visit the SUBMIT page, read the INFORMATION FOR ARTISTS document carefully, then complete the form by midnight on Sunday 14th May.
