Film, food and fright.

We’re gearing up for our first ever Halloween film festival and we are so very excited (and slightly terrified). A day of spooktakular activities as we convert an old abandoned asylum in Liverpool into a film frenzy for just one evening. Do you dare? Well if you do, you might want to read this as we can imagine you’ve got lots of questions.

Where is it?

It is at Newsham Park Orphanage, Orphan Drive, Liverpool, L6 7UN.

Should I be scared?

Very.

Will it be cold?

Maybe a little but there will be a lot of you so it should warm up quick. Maybe bring a coat just in case!

Is it honestly completely sold out?

Unfortunately yes! We don’t have any tickets on the door but keep an eye on the events page here for anyone passing theirs on.

Once I’ve entered, can I leave and come back?

Unfortunately not! But once you’re inside you’ll never want to leave.

Where are the bars?

There is a huge bar outside in the main courtyard right by the food traders serving a range of beers, spirits and ghoulish cocktails. There will be a smaller bar in the old hall room. We will have some service throughout the films so you can have drinks brought to you and don’t even have to move. What a life.

We’ve heard there will be delicious food there, is this true?

Do you honestly think, we, Independent Liverpool would ever put on an event without food? We’ve got artisan pizzas from Little Furnace, award-winning burgers and wings from Free State Kitchen and terrifyingly good smoked meats from Slim’s Pork Chop Express.

Is it fancy dress?

That’s completely up to you but we’d love it if you did get dressed up. We are getting dressed up as skeletons because we’ve got no body to go with. Ha, get it? Because it’s a skeleton? Yeah, we’re really lonely.

Is there wheelchair access?

Yes the event is wheelchair accessible.

Is there any parking close by?

There are various parking spots and spaces close to the park.

Is there a cash point near-by?

Newsham Park is just off West Derby Road which has a few cash points but we’d recommend bringing some cash with you on the day.

What time is last entry?

The doors open at 4pm. We recommend getting there as quick as possible for the best seats. We advise you to get there a little bit before 6pm to ensure you can grab a drink, grab some food and avoid any queues. Last entry will be 6pm.

Do you need any actors to help scare people?

Well, how could we refuse? If you fancy helping us give the good people of Liverpool a night to remember do email us at hello@independent-liverpool.co.uk

Can I get a refund if my hangover in work the next day is incredibly bad?

Nice try!
