The BBC’s biggest family festival is returning for 2019, bigger and better than ever!
Calling all Summer Socialites! Following an inaugural event last summer, BBC Summer Social returns for 2019 offering an even bigger and better line-up and now encompassing even more of the BBC’s best programmes for the whole family.
Taking place within the grounds of Croxteth Country Park in Liverpool over two days (August 3rd and 4th), BBC Summer Social will showcase a unique line-up of fabulous musical stars, the very best BBC, CBBC and CBeebies talent and the most popular family shows the BBC has to offer.
Saturday will see headliners Busted and Pixie Lott send the crowds into an excited frenzy, alongside other additions to the bill John Newman, Rak-Su, Nina Nesbitt and Freya Ridings. Other confirmed acts for Saturday include British pop trio New Hope Club and female pop group Four of Diamonds, who found their fame on Series 13 of X Factor, whilst a Horrible Histories movie screening and cast Q&A will excite those looking for a hit of history. Also joining the line-up, and needing no introduction, are teen music sensations Max & Harvey, guaranteed to be a festival highlight!
Dancing their way through Saturday, The Next Step will bring energetic dances and original choreography from the talented cast whilst Latin Dancing Star AJ Pritchard will take centre stage, best known for his role on BBC One dance series Strictly Come Dancing. Other fantastic additions include: local dance troupe Merseygirls, Freestyle Dance Champion Junior Frood; dancer and inaugural winner of the BBC’s latest talent series The Greatest Dancer, Ellie Ferguson; and singer, dancer and actor Harrison Vaughan – winner of CBBC’s hit show “Taking the Next Step”.
Aimed towards a younger audience, Sunday’s event sees CBeebies Superstar Mr Tumble take to the stage for an unmissable performance. Other exciting CBeebies additions include Andy and the Odd Socks, Dr Ranj, mayhem creators Cook and Line from Swashbuckle, Yolanda, Hey Duggee, and many more.
