Time for your body and mind to become one in the latest business to hit the extremely popular Baltic Triangle district, Yogacita.

After opening last month, Yogacita aims to build a yoga community in the heart of the creative district. Everybody is welcome, from raw beginners to spinal twisting moon salutators. Yogacita has taken over the first floor at the Old Gun Factory. Industrial chic meets yoga mats in the 2.500 ft2 first floor warehouse space that has been beautifully converted into a state of the art hot yoga studio.

Lucita Fernandez is the creator and owner of Yogacita. She first discovered yoga when living in Barcelona, practicing with friends on the beach and park. It was on her return to the UK that Lucita joined formal classes and discovered Happiness Hot Yoga – it was then that she fell irrevocably in love with yoga. Through regularly practicing hot yoga, she found the benefits were endless, it was great for the skin and increased her cardiovascular strength with the added benefits of increased flexibility and decreased injury risk.

Hot Yoga has been so life altering for Lucita, that she felt compelled to open her own studio and invite more people to discover all the benefits that yoga can bring to your life. The Yogacita studio at the Baltic Triangle has been created to be the perfect environment for this purpose and to lose oneself in the incredible healing practice of hot yoga. Everything in the Yogacita studio plays into that belief from lighting, to music, even to the ambient smells – the Yogacita studio stage is perfectly set for a truly life- altering experience as regularly practicing hot yoga can bring.

All are welcome at any level to come, let go of all the stresses and strains of everyday life and benefit from the amazing power of yoga to transform the body and the mind. It has become Lucita’s passion and she will bring all her energy to make it succeed. With plenty of early morning, lunchtime express and evening classes during the week plus a number at the weekend, there is no excuse not to give hot yoga a go. With men and women’s spacious showers and changing rooms that boast top of the range hairdryers, you can go straight from class to the office.

Yoga has many benefits, from stretching out sore, tight muscles, building strength & flexibility, to restoring mindfulness and calm. With 14 instructors, each with their own yoga style, there is a class to suit everyone. All instructors are there to help and support every individual in their yoga practice, with guided classes catering to all ages & abilities. Based around the breath, yoga will let you find strength, control and composure in your postures; practiced in a welcoming, warm and neutral space it can enable you to find stillness of mind and enjoy a greater sense of wellbeing. What better way to start or end the work day?

Some like it hot so the studio is set at 36°C. Practicing yoga in a hot room can reduce risk of injury, reduce stress & tension, increase flexibility, improve circulation, and is also great for the skin. Not for you? There is also Yin Yoga – a mat based deep stretching poses are held for longer allowing time for cultivating inner silence. There is also ‘Sivananda’ which focuses mostly on breathing technique, meditation, chanting, vinyasas and various inversions. And finally there will be candlelit sessions with meditation. Heavenly.
