Delifonseca Dockside is inviting people to raise a glass – and a knife and fork – to the father figures in their lives this Father’s Day.
The independent restaurant on Brunswick Way will mark the occasion on Sunday, June 15th, with a line-up of food and drink that’s a step up from the usual socks and novelty mugs.
Breakfast will be served from the morning, featuring favourites like huevos rancheros, the full Dockers breakfast, and cinnamon brioche French toast. Later in the day, diners can enjoy a series of Father’s Day specials that are big on flavour and comfort.

Dishes include smoky barbecued ‘Jacob’s Ladder’ short ribs with confit garlic mash and honey-orange carrots, a hearty summer mixed grill featuring lamb chop, steak, gammon, kidney and chorizo with chimichurri, char-grilled corn on the cob, pampas salad and fries, and a gochujang-marinated ribeye steak served with fiery noodle salad and char-grilled tenderstem broccoli. The classic Sunday roast with all the trimmings will also be available.
Desserts include pain au chocolat bread and butter pudding with hazelnut brittle and Cheshire chocolate ice cream. To drink, cocktails will be on offer, with the timeless Old Fashioned expected to be a firm favourite.
Candice Fonseca, proprietor of Delifonseca, said: “Father’s Day doesn’t have to mean fuss or fanfare. It’s just a chance to enjoy some time together and eat well while you’re at it. We see all sorts coming through the doors on days like this, from early breakfast crowds to those settling in for a longer lunch or dinner, and we like to keep things welcoming and easy-going.”
The day before, Delifonseca will also host a Port Tasting Experience from 3pm to 5pm. Tickets are £55 and include five ports paired with sweet and savoury platters. It’s a chance to sip, snack and maybe pick up a bit of port knowledge along the way.
For those still hunting for a decent gift, the award-winning on-site deli is stocked with locally brewed beers from Bootle’s Colbier, premium spirits, and made-to-order hampers featuring goods from independent producers across the UK and beyond.
Candice added: “The deli is always a good place to pick something up last minute, but it’s not just a bottle and a bow. We’ve got thoughtful things in stock that feel considered, from Liverpool-brewed beers and local roasted coffees to brilliant whiskies and handmade Toxteth chocolates. And if you’re not sure, we can always help put something together.”
Bookings are now open and early reservations are recommended.
