June’s over? Julying or something?
We all know June is over and so is Glastonbury, it’s now July… (Somebody remind the weather!). So if you’re having the Glasto blues or just wondering what you’ve got to look forward to in July look no further, we’ve got it covered. From music festivals to ping pong championships, you’re bound to find something that tickles your fancy.
Liverpool Biennial
Starting from the 9th of July the Liverpool Biennial of contemporary arts is set to take place, for those of you with an appreciation of all things artsy. It’s a free festival which showcases exhibits and projects throughout the cities galleries, museums and unused spaces. This year however, it’s back with a twist as children help to work alongside artists to produce exhibitions aimed at appealing to a younger crowd.
Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF)
When: 21st July- 24th July
Where: Sefton Park
For the past 3 years LIMF has given us something to look forward to each summer, a date to set aside in our social calendars, and this year it’s better than ever! Europe’s biggest free music festival is set to return to Sefton Park this summer with acts such as Sigma, Lianne Le Havas, Wretch 32, Maverick Sabre and Ms. Dynamite – just to name a few! With local bands such as The Wombats, Lightening Seeds and The Vryll Society all set to feature alongside a star studded line up. Who needs Glasto anyway when you’ve got LIMF…
Special Edition Circus x presents: House Nation
When: Friday 22nd July
Where: The Palm House, Sefton Park
A special edition circus is taking place in one of the best venues in the city – the Palm House. The event is in conjunction with LIMF but it is however a ticketed event and is one not be missed! With tickets selling fast you can expect the usual suspects Lewis Boardman and Yusef, but with guests Dennis Ferrer from New York, Reboot (Frankfurt) and HECTOR (Mexico City). Tickets here.
Pillbox Vintage Fair

There’s a vintage/retro fair heading to the Shipping Forecast on the 2nd July, expect quirky clothing, accessories and collectables. Don’t forget cardholders get 10% off at selected stalls.
Brazilica

Brazilica is back! And it’s a vibrant celebration of the varying cultures and Brazilian influence in the city. It will be as loud and colourful as ever drawing larger crowds each year. P.S. Get your samba on for the after party down at the Arts Club from 10pm.
Liverpool Pride
Where: St. George’s quarter
When: 30th-31st July
It’s always a colourful affair celebrating and supporting LGBT in the city and this year it will be no different! Transforming St. George’s quarter with marches and live music with this year’s theme being ‘Liverpool Icons’. So expect The Beatles and Cilla and you’ll be sure of a Lorra Lorra laughs…
Vintage Festival On The Dock
Designers, Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway MBE, return with their world-famous vintage festival – a celebration of 20th Century vintage cool. Visitors looking for some seriously stylish eye candy can browse the vintage marketplace, with the best traders hand-selected by keen-eyed curators, Dotty’s Vintage. Independent Liverpool Summer Food and Drink Festival

The British Beer Pong Open

If you fancy yourself as beer pong champ then we have just the thing as the biggest beer pong tournament in the UK is coming to Liverpool. Constellations Summer Garden Party

Liverpool’s Largest Gin Festival
Where: Lutyens crypt, Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral.
When: 28th-30th July
Returning to Liverpool is the UK’s largest gin festival, which has up to 100 varieties of Gin. It’s being held at Lutyens crypt in the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral where you will be taken on a gin adventure. And just in case you can’t remember it the morning after you will also be given a Gin guide brochure and a Gin glass to take away.
Kazimier Garden Party

Murdery Mystery Night At Delifonseca

Fonseca’s is set to host two nights of Prohibition themed murder mystery for the diner who dares. After the success of the 10th Birthday Celebrations, the Stanley Street restaurant will continue the party and collaborate with local talent, The Legion of Doom and Velma Von Bon Bon to present a night of interactive murder mystery alongside a creative 1920’s inspired menu.
