We remember going on a diet once. It was the worst four hours of our lives.

I think we can all agree dieting is hard. The lack of food, the jogging, the lycra – did we mention the lack of food? Now we don’t wish to corrupt you and we apologise if you’re easily swayed but here are 16 plates of food that are so good, they’re worth ruining your diet for. You can find them all at Baltic Market, our first venue and Liverpool’s first street food market based in the iconic Cain’s Brewery.

If there’s anything worth saying the words “I’ll start next Monday” for, it’s these dishes. If you fancy staying strong we strongly advise you look away now.

Little Furnace – Margarita Pizza

Roses are red, pizza sauce is too, we ordered a whole pizza and none of it is for you. One of the most popular things to be eaten every weekend. Don’t mess with a classic.

The Midnight Delivery – Doughnut Fries

Fresh out the fryer, coated in cinnamon sugar and then drenched in milk and white chocolate sauce. The Midnight Delivery have changed the game with this one.

ItalFresh – Wings ’N Ting

A vegan, fun and Caribbean take on chicken wings and chips. Deep fried coated cauliflower with sweet potato fries drizzled in a mango mayo.

Hafla Hafla – Halloumi Fries

People all over the UK have been travelling just for these. It doesn’t get much naughtier than deep frying cheese. Make sure you eat this on a weekend, we all know calories don’t exist then.

Timmy Tikka – Butter Chicken Rice Bowl

This butter sauce takes hours upon hours to make and less than a minute to eat. It’s so good we’d fill our taps with it.

Pao – Sichuan Pulled Pork Bao

There’s no amount of Weight Watchers sins that can quantify how good this tastes. The pickled pears on top is fruit though so, we guess it’s one of your five a day?

Oktopus – Soft Shell Crab Burger

Melt-in-the-mouth and moan-out-loud worthy. This is the crab burger of your dreams.

Slim’s Pork Chop Express – Pulled Pork Sandwich

Cooked slowly and eaten fast – the way it should be. There’s no greater sight than a mountain of pulled pork covered in a secret BBQ sauce.

The Midnight Delivery – Daim Bar Cheesecake

Life tastes better after cheesecake. This Daim bar cheesecake has become an absolute favourite. Take one look or bite and you’ll see why.

Hafla Hafla – Mezze Platter

A platter that matters. Award-winning, 24 hour marinated and cooked slowly on a spit lamb lies amongst falafel, sweet potato fries, flat bread and pickled goodness.

Pao – Seared Tofu Bao With Black Pepper Ketchup and Pickled Shiitake Mushrooms

One for veggies and meat eaters alike. To many, tofu is this concrete slab of nothingness but what Pao manage to do with has to be tasted to be believed.

Slim’s Pork Chop Express – Cheese Fries

Some times it’s the simple things in life that taste the best. Take some hand cut fries, soak them in a cheese sauce that’s so good we’d moisturise with it and there you go.

Timmy Tikka – Kati Roll

A kati roll is basically the taste of India wrapped in a special paratha bread. We can’t get enough of the deep fried paneer cheese, spiced spinach and all the trimmings. For a real kick get the spicy tamarind sauce.

ItalFresh – Cauli Burger

Crispy coated cauli in a soft white bun with tropical slaw, pimento pickled cucumba and ackee aioli.

Little Furnace – Greek Pizza

The pizza may be Italian-inspired but this pizza stands as a homage to Greece. It’s covered in feta cheese, olives and all other sorts of wonderful things.

Oktopus – Popcorn Mussels

The people’s champ and a unique take on a KFC favourite. Fishy fans, this one is for you.
