Squash Nutrition are looking for a Chef

Home-grown and rooted in Liverpool 8, Squash Nutrition is a diverse group of local people, committed to long-term, participatory social change. Our backgrounds are in horticulture, town planning, visual arts, cooking, film-making, theatre, teaching, writing and architecture and this expertise allows for bold, creative and different approaches.

Since 2007 we’ve been growing a loving and ambitious food, arts and environmental- focused social enterprise in order to help make Liverpool 8 a fairer, more economically robust and happier sort of place to live. The next phase of this journey is to open our new building! The new food hub is a pioneering, community-led eco-building and food garden that will be home to dynamic, progressive and integrated plant-based food practice. The building has been planned and designed by local residents and is due to open in spring 2018.
The Chef will co-design, develop and deliver our exciting new community business at Squash’s new food space; a vegetarian cafe, food-to- go and catering service. Working with the education team, the Chef will also co-design and deliver food-producing workshops/training with & for community members. Our vision is to make a fresh, buzzing, welcoming eating place with a vibrant, delicious, seasonal food offer. We are looking for a proactive, inventive person who has a real passion for cooking great tasting, multicultural, vegetarian food.
